Auction day is a busy time at the Kramer Auction Service gallery. Housed in a former theater in downtown Prairie du Chien, the gallery provides comfortable seating with excellent viewing of the auction floor. Hundreds of people attend our gun auctions in person.

Location: 203 E Blackhawk Avenue, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821

Parking: There is a free city parking lot across the street to the west (along Wacouta Avenue) of the Kramer Auction building. Many attendees also park on the street along Blackhawk Avenue and Wacouta Avenue. Please take notice of any no parking zones and obey traffic laws.

Food/Beverages: Area organizations provide food in the lobby of the auction gallery. Generally a sandwich (barbeque, pulled pork, etc), chips, soda, water, coffee, and baked goods are available. Jim’s Bar is located next door, however they do not serve food. There are many restaurants (grill/pub, pizza, hamburger stand, coffee shop, etc) within walking distance.

Online Bidding: You can bid in advance and live during the auction via Proxibid. A dedicated staff member monitors the online bids and represents them during the live auction in the gallery.

Absentee Bidding: Absentee bids can be left in advance with the Kramer Auction staff. You can use this form to submit an absentee bid now. Auction attendees can also leave absentee bids if they need to leave the auction early.

Proxy by Phone Bidding: For certain lots, we can arrange to have our staff call you and have you on the phone during the auction. Our staff will communicate with you and bid for you while that lot is being auctioned. This must be arranged in advance of the auction. Contact us at 608-326-8108 to arrange a Proxy by Phone.

Payment: Settling up is required by the end of the auction day. Auction attendees pay at the front desk before leaving. Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted. Credit cards require an additional fee for processing. Online bidders have their payments processed through the Proxibid website.

Gun Transfers: We assist with the paperwork for handling gun ownership transfers. Our staff is knowledgeable in the federal and individual state laws when it comes to legally transferring a firearm into your name. Often, buyers are able to take their newly acquired firearms home the same day after a federal background check. A photo ID is required, along with filling out a Firearms Transaction Record form. Shipping Guns: Kramer Auction Service can ship guns to buyers who are not in attendance at the auction. Most firearms are required to be shipped to a local Federal Firearms Licensed dealer in your area. They will help you complete your paperwork and background check and facilitate the transfer of ownership to you. They will also be the location where you can pick up your newly acquired firearm. Once payment is received, guns generally ship within within a week. Firearms are carefully packaged. Additional shipping charges apply.
